Spinophorosaurus

SPINE-oh-FOR-oh-SAW-rus, “spike-bearing lizard”

Spinophorosaurus was one of few known sauropods, or long-necked plant eaters, that had a weapon on its tail. It was more closely related to the sauropods of Asia than to those nearby in Africa at that time. They weighed about as much as 14 modern-day polar bears!
