Dear Friend,

Jade is a very popular stone in Taiwan. It’s actually China’s most precious stone. We’ve seen it in many stores. But we saw an incredible amount of jade for sale at the Yushih jade market.

The colors usually vary from cloudy white to clear green, but there are even red, yellow, and lavender jades. The clear, emerald-green jadeite is valued most in China.

When we visited the Palace Museum, we were able to see some very old and valuable jade collections. Many women wear jade bracelets for good luck. There is even an important deity called the Jade Emperor. Jade is everywhere!
