How
the Trick Looks “Everyone gets shoelace knots sometimes,” you tell your audience as you tie a single knot (loosely) in the middle of a shoelace. |
|---|---|
“When
that happens to me, I get the knot out magically. To make it
more difficult, I’ll tie the ends of the shoelace together
with several knots.” You knot the ends together tightly six
times. |

|---|---|
Then you
hand the ends to someone in the audience and say, “Pull to make
sure the knots are solid.” |
|---|
After
taking back the shoelace, you cover it with a bandanna or put
it behind your back. In a few moments, you show the shoelace—and
the knot has disappeared! |

Keep
spreading the knot until it joins the stack of knots at the
top. |

There
are so many knots that no one will notice one more! |
