A
storm was coming. Rabbit knew it was going to be a bad one,
but he wasnt worried. He would be safe and dry in
a place he had found. (Cut 1-2-3.)
Rabbit stuck his head out and saw the dark clouds moving closer. He heard the wind blowing through the forest. He saw Opossum moving slowly down the trail and wiping his eyes.
What is the matter with you? asked Rabbit.
Im trying to get home before the storm comes, but dust keeps blowing in my eyes and I cant see, said Opossum.
You
will never make it. The storm is coming fast, said
Rabbit. Come in. I have plenty of room. Rabbit
made a place for Opossum. (Cut 3-4-5.) Rabbit and Opossum
waited.
Rabbit stuck his head out to check on the storm. He saw Squirrel coming down the trail, slowly weaving back and forth. What is the matter with you? asked Rabbit.
Im
trying to get home before the storm comes, but leaves keep
blowing around me and making me dizzy, said Squirrel.
You will never make it. The storm is coming fast, said Rabbit. Come in. I have plenty of room. Rabbit made a place for Squirrel. (Cut 5-6-7.) Rabbit, Opossum, and Squirrel waited.
Rabbit stuck his head out to check on the storm. He saw Bird hopping slowly down the trail. What is the matter with you? asked Rabbit.

You

Rabbit. Come in. I have plenty of room. Rabbit
made a place for Bird. (Cut 7-8-9.) Rabbit, Opossum, Squirrel,
and Bird waited.
Rabbit stuck his head out to check on the storm. The rushing wind and the cold rain hit him in the face. Rabbit quickly ducked back inside. The storm is here! he called to his friends. Rabbit sat still and waited. Opossum closed his eyes and waited. Squirrel wrapped her tail around herself and waited. Bird tucked her head under her wing and waited.
The
wind howled, and the rain beat down. The thunder rumbled,
the lightning flashed across the sky, but the animals were
safe and dry.
Soon the storm was over, and the sun began to shine. At last Opossum, Squirrel, and Bird could go home. But first they thanked Rabbit for sharing his safe place with them.
