Misty stopped rushing because she remembered two things. One was that the first day of April is April Fools’ Day, when people like to play tricks on each other. The other was that Misty knew from trying to see the bank sign that it was impossible to see anything through the fog. So there was no way Todd could have seen the bus going past Johnson’s Grocery. He was playing an April Fools’ joke on Misty.
