Sewing Cards

What You’ll Need:

• pencil
• thin cardboard
• scissors
• markers
• hole punch
• yarn
• tape

How to Make It:

1. Draw a simple shape on thin cardboard, and cut it out. Use markers to decorate both sides.

2. Punch holes around the outside edge of the shape.

3. Cut a long piece of yarn. Tie one end to a corner hole. Put tape around the other end to make a “needle.”

4. Practice making running stitches (as shown on the car) and overcast stitches (as shown on the house). Directions for other stitches can be found under “sewing” in many encyclopedias.
