What You’ll Need:
- pencil
- scissors
- black paper or poster board
- glue
- hole reinforcers
- string
- tape
- cardboard
How to Make It:
-
To make the head and body, draw and cut out a large and small circle from black paper or poster board.
-
Glue one side of the smaller circle (the head) to the larger circle (the body).
-
To make legs, cut eight thin strips of black paper or poster board.
-
Glue four legs to each side of the body. Let dry. Then turn the figure over and bend each leg to form joints.
-
Stick two loose-leaf notebook paper hole reinforcers onto the head to make eyes.
-
Poke a small hole through the center of the body. Push an inch or two of a long piece of string through the hole. Tape it under the spider.
-
Tape the other end of the string to a strong strip of cardboard. Use the cardboard strip as a handle to make the puppet walk, jump, or dance. If the spider seems off-balance, tape small pieces of poster board or a penny underneath where needed.
