Craft Image

How to Make It:

  1. Fold a paper plate in half. Open out the plate and lay it flat, with the fold pointing up.

  2. On the bottom half of the plate, draw the hull or body of a sailboat with the top edge against the fold. Draw water and waves around the boat to the rim of the plate.

  3. On the top half of the plate, draw the mast and sails of the boat.

  4. Color the entire drawing.

  5. Poke scissors through the paper plate near the sails and carefully cut around the outline of the sails and mast. Leave any of the drawing that touches the fold attached.

  6. Fold back the top half of the plate to stand it up. If the mast won’t stand upright, support it by gluing or taping a toothpick behind it, half on the bottom of the plate and half along the mast.
