What You’ll Need:
- one large box
- one small box
- newspaper
- tape
- colored paper
- glue
- rubber bands
- cardboard
- pencil
- scissors
- crayons or markers
- drinking straw
How to Make It:
-
Choose two boxes—one large and one small—to create the truck. (A pasta box and a half-pint milk container were used for this sample.) Fill the boxes with crumpled newspaper, and tape them closed.
-
Cover the boxes with colored paper, then glue the cab (small box) to the trailer (large box). Use rubber bands to hold them in place while the glue dries.
-
Draw and cut wheel shapes from cardboard. Color them and glue them along the bottom of the truck. Also cut out and glue on windows, headlights, a grill, a license plate, and other decorations. Add two drinking-straw pieces for exhaust pipes.
