How to Make It:

  1. Glue construction paper to the outside of a shoebox. (Set the lid aside). The outside bottom of the box will be the inside of the monster’s mouth.

  2. Measure the long sides of the box, and find the middle of each side. Cut a slit on each side to the bottom of the box. (Don’t cut the bottom.)

  3. Fold the box in half.

  4. Cut out features from paper, and glue them on.Craft Image

  5. To make handles, cut out two 7-inch-by-2-inch pieces of cardboard from the shoebox lid. On the inside of the box, bend one handle and glue the ends of it on top of the fold, then bend the other handle and glue the ends on the bottom. Let the glue dry.

  6. Make a “talking” greeting card by writing a message in the monster’s mouth.
