What You’ll Need:
- marker and pen
- pasta box
- scissors
- construction paper
- glue or tape
- paint
- small plastic cap
- corrugated cardboard
- straws or unsharpened pencils
How to Make It:
-
Draw a rectangle around the see-through window on the front of a pasta box. Cut along three sides of
the
rectangle, as shown. Fold up the rectangle on the uncut
side to form a windshield. -
Decorate the box with paper glued or taped in place, or paint the box.
-
Trace a small plastic cap onto corrugated cardboard, making four circles for wheels. Cut out the circles, and use a pen to poke a hole in the center of each. Paint the circles.
-
Poke two holes in each side of the car where the wheels will be attached.
-
To make the axles, push a straw or an unsharpened pencil through the holes near the back of the box and another through the holes near the front.
-
Put a wheel over each axle of the four ends. Wrap several layers of tape around the ends of the axles to keep the wheels from falling off.
-
Add headlights, taillights, and a steering wheel made from plastic caps or from paper. Glue a short piece of straw under the rear of the car as a tailpipe.
