“Secret Message
for Dad” Card

What You’ll Need:

• white construction paper
• marker
• dark crayon
• glue
• tape
• coin

How to Make It:

1. Fold two pieces of white construction paper in half, making two cards.

2. With a marker, write a message on the front of the card. Write the message by itself or as part of a drawing.

3. Using a dark crayon and pressing hard, color heavily over the message so that it no longer shows.

4. Finish the rest of the drawing with crayon.

5. Glue the other card inside the first. Tape a coin to the inside, and write these instructions: “To read this card, scratch off the dark crayon with the coin.” Then give the card to Dad.
