Tortoise and Hare Racers
What You’ll Need:
- green and white tempera paint
- two walnut shells
- glue
- paper
- scissors
- cotton ball
- yarn
- marbles
- board
How to Make It:

For the tortoise, paint a walnut shell with green tempera paint.

For the hare, paint another shell white. Use two coats, if necessary.

When the paint dries, glue on cut-paper features.

Glue a cotton-ball tail and yarn whiskers onto the rabbit.
To play, place a marble under each racer. Set them on a board. Tilt the board so the tortoise and hare can compete.
