Mancala is known as wari in Ghana, where this game was made.
  2. Cut off and discard the top of a 12-cup egg carton. Cut the flap off the base. Use markers to decorate the base.

  3. Cut off the top from two single-serving cereal boxes so that the bottom of each is 1¼ inches high. Cover them with colored paper.

  4. Glue the egg-carton base in the center of the cardboard with one cereal-box bottom at each end.

  5. For counters, use 48 pennies, buttons, dried beans, or pebbles. If you wish, paint them. (The colors of the counters don’t matter.)
