What You’ll Need:
- round plastic lid
- construction paper
- scissors
- glue
- tacky craft glue
- rope or twine
- masking tape
How to Make It:
-
For the porthole, use a round plastic lid from a takeout container or a plastic top from a ready-made pie crust.
-
From construction paper, cut out a ship, water, and other details to make a scene that fits in the porthole. Glue the scene together, but don’t glue it in the porthole yet.
-
Add a few dots of tacky craft glue to the front of the scene, and place it facedown on the inside of the porthole.
-
Measure a piece of rope to fit around the outside edge of the porthole, or braid twine to make a rope. Glue it around the outside edge, using tacky craft glue. Let it dry.
-
On the back of the porthole, use masking tape to add a twine hanger.
