Trouble
Sleeping
I can’t go to sleep at night
sometimes. Do you have any ideas on how to make me go to bed?

There are times when everyone has trouble falling asleep. If this
happens to you often, though, we encourage you to talk about it
with your parents. They will probably have some good suggestions
for you to try.
It’s
a good idea to spend the last hour or so before going to bed doing
quiet, relaxing kinds of activities. In this time you might read,
take a warm bath, or join in fun, family activities that don’t
require a lot of running, jumping, or moving around. It might
also be helpful to listen to quiet, soothing music as you lie
in bed. If you do that, though, be sure to talk to your parents
first so they’ll know what you're doing and will help you
find appropriate music.
One
more thing: Watch what you eat in the evenings. If you snack on
foods that are high in sugar or caffeine, it can cause you to
be sleepless.
We
hope these ideas help you. You can also ask a teacher or another
adult for suggestions. Somewhere along the way you’re sure
to find a suggestion that works just perfectly for you!
Best
wishes,
